    1. During the online add/drop period, paper-based add/drop requests will not be accepted. All applications and approvals must be processed through the online system. Please refer to the Registration and Curriculum Division website > Latest News for the opening times of online add/drop for each year level: https://athx.acad.tku.edu.tw/.
    2. For compulsory courses, cross-program applications, or course overload applications, the online procedure is as follows:

    (1) Course Add/Drop and Report Registration System: https://www.ais.tku.edu.tw/RPT_ELE.

    (2) System availability: September 16 (Tue) – September 23 (Tue), according to year level:

    (3) Course withdrawal (online application): Students must withdraw courses via the “Online Course Selection System.” If withdrawal is still needed after the second phase of add/drop ends, students may apply for withdrawal in the “Course Add/Drop and Report Registration System” before the corresponding deadline for each program as listed above.

    (4) Notes on compulsory course add/drop:

    The following compulsory courses are handled as specified:

    • Physical Education: No add/drop allowed.
    • English (II): Refer to the Department of English website > Announcements for General Education Foreign Languages.
    • Required specialization courses in the Department of Japanese and the Western Languages & Literature Division (French/Spanish) are handled per departmental announcements.
    • Campus and Community Service Learning: No online add/drop. Daytime undergraduates who need to make up/retake the course must register with the instructor before the first week of class (ext. 3771), no later than Sept. 22 (Mon) at noon.
    • Club Learning and Practice – Introductory Course: Restricted to 2nd-year or above undergraduates in the Day Division.

    General Education Core Courses: 4th-year students and 3rd-year transfer students may apply online (no add/drop for Information Education cluster [O group]).

    Cross-program enrollment or overload: If the requested course is an undergraduate elective, approval will only be processed after course selection ends and if seats remain.

    • Graduate students (Master’s/Doctoral) may apply online for undergraduate courses.
    • Graduate and In-Service Master’s students may cross-enroll online for up to 2 courses.
    • Extended-study students and graduating students may apply online for cross-program or overload courses.

    (5) Process: Student online application → Instructor/Offering Department review → Academic Affairs Office review → Student confirms result online.

    3.Courses available only through the Online Course Selection System (no add/drop approval available):

    (1) Elective courses: Students must select via the online system. No add/drop if full.
    (2) Foreign Language Courses (Q group): (Spanish I & II, French I & II, German I & II, Japanese I & II, Russian I & II) — selection only via the online system. No add/drop if full.
    (3) Students with prior approval for graduate-level prerequisite courses may directly add graduate courses via the online system.

    4. If an added course conflicts with an existing course or results in an overload (unless qualified for overload), students must drop the conflicting/overloaded course themselves during the add/drop period via the online system. If the conflict/overload course is not dropped, the add/drop application will not be processed.
