Master’s Program in Latin American Studies

The Program aims to explore politics, economy, societies, and cultures in Latin America. The curriculum is classified into three categories: law and politics, culture and society, and economy and commerce. Seven courses, two to three credits each, are annually presented for each category for students. Except the course of thesis composition, all courses are elective. The period of study limits to two to four years; 32 credits are required before beginning thesis composition.

The curriculum conforms the following two features: practical purposes and constant innovation.
1. Regarding practical purposes, the three categories designed are based on Latino history, culture, society, politics, laws, and business. This feature not only reflects the diversity of Latin America but facilitates students’ learning and future employment.
2. About constant innovation, the Program regularly adjusts curricula based on the feedback from the curriculum committee members and students to improve students’ understanding in Latin America and enhance their competitiveness.
